APEC business travel card (hereinafter abbreviated to ABTC) is a kind of document issued by competent authorities of countries or territories participating in the Scheme on APEC business travel card to their business people in order to facilitate their travels to conduct business cooperation, commercial, investment or service activities; to participate in conferences and seminars; or for other economic purposes in countries and territories within APEC participating in the Scheme. ABTC holders, when entering or departing from countries or territories stated in their ABTC, need not obtain visas of such countries or territories. ABTCs holders also benefit from faster immigration processing on arrival via access to fast-track entry and exit through special APEC lanes at major airports in participating economies.
The ABTCs shall be issued to one or these positions in a company as Business Man/Woman, Chairman, Deputy Chairman of Members Board, General Director/Director, Deputy Director, Chief Accountant, Head of Representative. The company must have a minimum revenue of the latest year is 10 billion VND and these applicants ordinary passports are still valid for at least 03 years of use from the submitting date of the ABTC.
ABTCs shall be valid for five years since the date of issue and shall not be extended; In case of expiration, the new one shall be issued.
APEC member economies fully participating in the scheme include Australia, Brunei Darussalam, Chile, China, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, and Viet Nam. Canada and the United States are transitional members of the scheme.
